Hitachi Original Brushless Motor Technology
- ► No wearing parts (carbon brushes, commutator, field coil)
- ► Hitachi original compact controller
- Long Lifetime, Maintenance-Free
The brushless motor offers a significantly extended product life cycle by eliminating trouble including armature burnout, layer short or commutator wear even in severe work environments. Besides, no carbon brush replacement is required.
- Compact, Lightweight
- Top-Class *1 Capabilities
The highly efficient brushless motor and the optimized hammering mechanism achieves the top-class*1 drilling speed (up to 40% faster *2) and demolition performance (up to 4.6kg / 5min.*3).
*1: As of August 2016. Among 18V cordless rotary hammers made by leading power tool manufacturers (surveyed by Hitachi Koki).
*2: A comparison between the DH18DBDL (with the dust extractor system uninstalled) and the previous model DH18DSL (Actual performance results may vary depending on operating conditions.).
*3: Actual performance results may vary according to the hardness of the concrete and other operational conditions.
Dust Extractor System
- High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filter
High-Efficiency Particulate Air filter ensures clean air exhaust.
- Brush Cap
Brush cap and nozzle seal mounted to minimize the escape of dust.
- Drilling Depth Stop
adjustable up to 85mm
Compatible drill bit
Diameter: 4.3-20mm
Effective length: 50-100mm
- Detachable Dust Box
allows easy dust disposal
- Delayed Stop Function
The dust extractor system's internal motor stops after a delay of several seconds from when the tool's switch is released, so that it can vacuum remaining dust particles in the internal parts.
- Cross Platform Compatibility
The dust extractor system included with the DH18DBDL fits on the DH18/36DBL. The one included with the DH18DBML fits on the DH18/36DBQL.
- Improved Handling
Pic.1: The grip of the handle and the drill bit head are on the same line of action, which makes applying force to the drill easier.
Pic.2: The grip of the handle is close to the center of gravity for easier handling.
- Top-Class Runtime *1
Number of 40mm deep holes drilled into concrete with a ø 8.5 drill bit
Up to 115 holes per charge with the dust extractor system
Up to 170 holes per charge without the dust extractor system
*1: As of August 2016. Among 18V cordless rotary hammers made by leading power tool manufacturers (surveyed by Hitachi Koki).
*2: Included batteries and charger vary by country or area.
- Reactive Force Control(RFC)
When the tool bit is suddenly overburdened during operation, the slip clutch works or the tool's built-in controller stops the motor's output before the entire tool jerks.

- Convenient Carrying Case
can store the hammer with the dust extraction system attached.
(The side handle has to be detached.)
- Quick-Release Tool Retainer
allows for fast change between the SDS-plus drill bit holder and the drill chuck holder (DH18DBML only).
Note : Turn the change lever to "Hammering only" mode when replacing a tool retainer with another.
Use the machine only in "Rotation only" mode when the drill chuck holder installed.
- Multiple Bit-Angle Settings
The chisel can be rotated in multiple angles with the change lever positioned at 'neutral'.
- Fast Charging Offered by Hitachi's Original Charging Technology
Built-in cooling system of the UC18YSL3 charger reduces charging time by efficiently cooling both the battery and charger at the same time during charging.
* Included batteries vary by country or area.
- Other Features of the UC18YSL3 Charger
- Large charge indicator lamp with 4 color status LED and sound alert once charging is complete
- USB port (5V 2A)
- Capable of charging at low temperature (-10ºC and above)
